Precision Pilates Liability Waiver and Terms of Service
At Precision Pilates, we teach the original Classical Pilates method as it was designed by Joseph Pilates, known as Contrology, a mindful system of movement focused on strength, control, and balance. This agreement outlines the terms under which clients participate in sessions, use studio equipment, and engage with the Precision Pilates community.
1. Participation & Contrology Framework
I understand that Contrology (the Pilates Method) is a system of movement designed to build physical and mental strength through focused, controlled exercise. I am participating voluntarily in classes, workshops, or events offered by Precision Pilates. I acknowledge that each session involves physical activity that may include the use of Pilates exercises and equipment performed under the supervision of qualified instructors.
2. Voluntary Acknowledgment of Involvement
I confirm that I am participating voluntarily and have provided accurate information regarding my medical history, current health, medications, and physical condition. I agree to follow all guidance provided by instructors to ensure safe and effective practice. I understand that the method requires concentration, awareness, and personal responsibility for movement control.
3. Understanding of Risk
I acknowledge that participation in Pilates exercises carries inherent risks, including but not limited to muscle strain, joint injury, or other physical harm. I voluntarily accept these risks and confirm that I am physically able to participate safely. I understand that Precision Pilates, its instructors, and associated staff are not liable for any injury, illness, or mishap arising directly or indirectly from my participation in classes, workshops, or events.
4. Instructor Role & Scope
I understand that the role of Precision Pilates teachers is to provide guidance in the practice and principles of Contrology. They are not medical practitioners and do not provide diagnosis, treatment, or rehabilitation. Any advice given is limited to exercise technique and safe movement practice within the Pilates framework.
5. Release & Indemnity
I release and hold harmless Precision Pilates, its owners, instructors, and staff from all claims, liabilities, or expenses arising out of participation in classes or use of equipment. I accept full responsibility for my own wellbeing and indemnify the studio, its instructors, and employees against any action or claim resulting from injury, loss, or damage sustained while participating in or travelling to and from studio activities.
6. Studio Conduct & Equipment Use
I agree to respect all studio policies and maintain appropriate standards of conduct, hygiene, and care when using studio equipment. The studio reserves the right to modify session times, formats, or instructors as necessary.
I agree to use all equipment as instructed and to immediately report any discomfort, pain, or issues during practice.
7. Memberships, Fees & Cancellations
All passes and memberships are non-refundable, non-transferable, and have strict expiry dates. Cancellations made with less than 12 hours’ notice will forfeit the session.
Membership payments are processed fortnightly and renew automatically. Sessions allocated to each fortnightly membership period must be used within that period. Unused sessions do not roll over.
Failed payments may result in suspension of the membership until payment is received.
Members may freeze their membership for up to 8 weeks per year by providing at least 7 days’ notice.
Memberships may be cancelled at any time. Cancellation will take effect at the end of the current paid fortnightly billing period, and no further membership payments will be taken after cancellation.
The studio reserves the right to alter fees or membership structures. Clients will be notified of any changes that affect their current membership.
8. Studio Closures & Leave
The studio will take periods of holiday leave throughout the year. During these times, no membership fees will be deducted, and any active passes will be extended by the length of the holiday period, provided no alternative teacher or class is offered. Membership fees are not reduced for weeks that include public holidays, even if the week runs a day short.
From time to time, the studio may close or cancel sessions due to work-related travel, professional development, or illness. We uphold fair workplace standards in line with Australian Fair Work legislation, including the right to take sick leave when necessary. Clients will be notified by group email or text message early morning on any day we are unable to teach due to illness. Refunds are not issued for cancellations due to illness or travel; however, we always make every effort to minimise disruption. Precision Pilates values transparency and reliability and will always communicate such changes as early as possible.
9. Signature & Acknowledgment
I have read and understood the above Contrology Participation & Liability Agreement. I confirm that the information I have provided to Precision Pilates is accurate, and I agree to abide by the studio’s terms, conditions, and policies as outlined.
